ENERGY AUDITS

Our in house consultants also specializes in carrying out energy audits. Energy audits can help building owners to identify areas of energy waste and subsequently make decisions to reduce waste and save energy. The energy flows within a building can be traced and the energy consumption profile can be scrutinized for areas of potential energy savings.

For commercial buildings, our consultants carry out the energy audits as per AS/NZS 3598:1:2014 - Commercial buildings.

There are three types of energy audits namely:

•     Type 1: Basic energy audit

•     Type 2: Standard energy audit

•     Type 3: Precision subsystem energy audit.

Type 1: Basic energy audit

This is the simplest form of energy audit accepted under the Standard.  It is suitable for small sites, sites with limited budgets. It can also be treated as a preliminary investigation for larger sites leading to a higher-grade audit. Savings are, however, based on estimates rather than detailed calculations.

Type 2: Detailed Energy Audit

This type of audit is the standard model for site-wide energy audits and it is generally suitable for all sites. Savings data will be based on detailed data and analysis of the equipment and operation on site.

Type 3: Precision subsystem energy audit

Type 3 audits is a very detailed audit with a focus on a particular subsystem on a site. i.e boiler systems, chiller systems, etc and they are more suitable for large and complex sites.

Energy efficiency opportunities will be detailed and specific to the subsystem which is audited. The savings calculations will be attributed to the analysis from the site's energy consumption along with additional monitoring of the data and operations of the equipment. This is usually to support a major investment in that subsystem.
